Q. How can I access the seminar?
A. It's not a matter of access. We're looking for people who would like to participate not surveil our discussion. So, there needs to be some screening of applicants.

1. Go to the Factory School Studios log in page and create an account.
2. Write to the Modern School Studio manager, J. Kuszai, (kuszai "at" factory school "dot" org) and ask to be added to the Modern School Studio. You must also introduce yourself and describe your interest in this project.

Q. What does my letter need to contain exactly?
A. Well, you might start with how you heard about this project and what your interest in it is. If you are not sure, do some searches and come back after you've decided you need to talk to people about the Modern School movement, its antecedents and legacy. The documents section of this site is probably enough for curious folks.

Q. Why the restrictions, dude?
A. While we would like to accommodate everyone, in order to protect the participants and to foster an environment of trust and community-building, the seminar requires registration. We would like this to be a space of serious discussion, one fostering an activist pedagogy rooted in anti-foundationalist, anti-statist, and, yes, anarchist theory. So people who don't really know why they want to participate in the seminar will not be given access. On the other hand, if you do not know what you are doing but are driven to participate, your letter should indicate that. The point is that we are looking to keep the community focused, and not become an area for internet trolls, insect assassins, or other haters and vermin.
